Committees
The following standing committees have been established for the calendar year 2007. Each committee has a designated lead or "manager" or "chairperson" whose duties are to coordinate the work of the committee and to be the routine contact between the committee and the RCTW Board of Directors. However, free communication throughout the club is strongly encouraged. Any member whether on a committee or not, is free to contact the Board or attend Board meetings.
New Boathouse Committee:
This Committee will organize within the guidelines set forth by all governing entities in The Woodlands, funding for a new boathouse and land acquisition.

Boathouse Maintenance Committee:
Assures that club facilities are maintained in good condition. Facilities include interior and exterior of club bays and docks. Organizes periodic work parties at least twice a year (spring and fall cleaning).

Equipment Committee:
Assures that club equipment is maintained in good condition. Equipment includes boats, oars, launch and trailer.

Juniors Committee:
Work with the Juniors organization and assures that the junior program operates in accordance with guidelines set forth with CISD, WCA, Parks & Recreation, RCTW, USRowing, etc. Develop junior rowing team tryout/participation guidelines and arrange regatta participation for the junior team.

Learn To Row Committee:
Assures that the Learn to Row program operates within guidelines set forth with the Parks & Recreation Department, USRowing, RCTW, etc. Provide certification for prospective members by verifying rowing ability and equipment care and handling ability. Arrange for open row and attendants for boathouse. Develop a process to introduce new members to the appropriate club-owned equipment according to their ability level and to discuss equipment use and expectations with new members

Public Information Committee:
Assures that the rowing club gets good press in local publication. Works with Newsletter Committee.

Social Committee:
Organizes periodic social gatherings for members and spouses and/or family when appropriate such as Christmas Party, etc. Assists and supports club events with picnics or refreshments such as home regatta and work parties.- Belle Feeney
Web Page Committee:
Develops and maintains a Web Page for the club. Works with the Board, Public Information Committee, Regatta Committee and Newsletter Committee to determine and update content.

Home and Away Regatta Committee:
Assures that regional regatta information is made available to membership (through Board Secretary and Newsletter Committee), helps coordinate entries (especially for novice and masters rowers,etc.) Coordinate efforts with Juniors Committee when a regatta is open to all rowers. Develop a process for allowing equipment usage at regattas (arranging authorization/check-out procedures for using club equipment at out of town regattas). Assures the RCTW's Lake Woodlands Championships Regatta and Slay the Dragon Regatta are organized, coordinated and promoted in the Parks & Recreation Department, and clubs, USRowing publication, membership, etc. Solicits support from Social Committee, Boathouse Committee and general membership as necessary to staff and execute regatta.

Newsletter Committee:
Assures that the club membership is informed on a bi-monthly basis of current points of interests and activities. Collects and edits articles from the Board of Directors.
