On the lake that the 1972 United States Olympic rowing team used to train, the Rowing Club of The Woodlands has consistently hosted two competitive regattas in the fall head-race season and in the spring sprint season. Lake Woodlands serves as the spectacular backdrop for these regattas.

Our Regattas

The Slay The Dragon is an annual head-race regatta hosted in the middle of October. Hosting more than 100 boats, Lake Woodlands serves as a backdrop for an exhilarating all out sprint to the dragon and back.

The Lake Woodlands Champions is known as one of the best sprint races in the State of Texas, if not the best. Hosting nearly every possible club and team in Texas, hundreds upon hundreds of rowers flock to The Woodlands for the chance to be crowned champions.

Having one of the few courses that allows athletes to sprint 1500m without obstacles or bridges, the course is unique. Whether you are a spectator or a rower, this is one regatta that you will never forget.
