About the Rowing Club of The Woodlands
Providing recreational and competitive rowing opportunities for The Woodlands and surrounding communities, the Rowing Club of The Woodlands offers an assortment of recreational, intermediate, and elite rowing opportunities. Individuals from the Club actively compete at regional and national regattas and have established a successful Juniors program.
Rowing Club of The Woodlands, Inc. is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation. The Club was formed by a small group of enthusiasts in February 1989. Since then, the club has grown to approximately 100 members including recreational, ex-collegiate, master and junior rowers. Additionally, the Club has an active Juniors program with two training and competitive seasons annually and serves as the largest high school program in the Houston area.
The Club operates from a 3,000 square foot boathouse located in Northshore Park in The Woodlands, Texas. The boathouse contains club-owned recreational to elite level equipment, as well as a limited number of privately owned boats.
The Club is dedicated to the advancement of rowing and is a registered member of the United States Rowing Association (USRowing), the national governing body for the sport in the US. Established in 1882, USRowing is America's oldest amateur sports association.
