Fourth Of July 2021

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love the colors, the flags, the parades, the excitement, the FOOOOD and of course the fireworks.

Some of my most precious memories from my childhood are running around with my friends and cousins catching fireflies while I enjoyed the fireworks overhead and a glass of cold iced tea my Mom had for me on the porch.

I’m so grateful to live in a township that has fireworks and takes the effort to plan the parades and this grande firework finale every year.

As with every year, it will take te coordination and support from us all. That means our beloved Northshore part will have limited access and a few days will be closed to the public as fireworks technicians and engineers move in the unassuming tubs and explosives and prepare the launch platform.

This year they will be lashing our docks together and floating it out to a position in the middle of the lake. What a great idea, by the way. It’s not that we’re concerned too much with an uncontrolled firework initiated ground or a forest fire – the overabundance of rain this year has no doubt taken care of that-. But this will reduce the risk of a possible accident and property damage.

So for our boat and water enthusiasts and want you to know of some resources to monitor when the Park will be closed and when it will open again. And for our Summer Camp athletes, we will be resuming camp on the 6th.
