masters program

Welcome to the Rowing Club of the Woodlands adult rowing page. We have multiple teams that you will be able to join that fit your schedule or rowing goals. RCTW prides itself on having all-year-round access to great facilities for our rowers as well as a strong group of individuals who volunteer to help our rowers discover their potential.

Why is adult rowing so popular?

Rowing is a great total body workout. It uses all of the body’s major muscle groups (arms, legs, back, abdomen, and buttocks). Although strenuous, it is low impact, and improves flexibility, and strengthens the back.

Rowing relieves stress. It’s not just the exercise and endorphins that make rowing such a good stress reliever. There is a meditative quality in the repetitive rhythm of the stroke. Beautiful sunsets over tranquil waters don’t hurt either.

The RCTW Masters’ Program (Master rowers are defined by U.S. Rowing to be any Rower 21 years of age or older) offers opportunities for adult rowers of all skill levels.

All Masters enjoy encouragement and exercise through a low-impact yet demanding sport that includes fresh air, stunning views of Lake Woodlands, and friendly fun.  Those with a competitive spirit can train through clinics and team regatta preparation.
